n gol solitario de Luis Hernández le dio a México su tercera Copa de Oro en la final de la edición 1998 en la cancha del Memorial Coliseum de Los Ángeles. Y el triunfo fue precisamente ante el acérrimo rival: Estados Unidos, que había lucido magnánimo durante sus partidos eliminatorios. Sin embargo, el goleador de México pasaba por uno de los mejores momentos de su carrera y anotaba a la menor provocación. Contra los estadounidenses no fue la excepción.
